Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains
Recently I've been obsessed with orange lips for summer and one of the orange colored lip products I have been using is the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous. (the middle one) and since I haven't done a review, today's review is about Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains.
I own three shades:
top to bottom: honey, rendezvous, adore |
These are kind of like big lip liners. haha
The tip is shaped like a crayon and by twisting the bottom part you can dispense more product.
I think I got all of mine at CVS. They sell them for $8.99
Target sells them for cheaper, $7.49
Pros:
- long lasting lip color, probably one of the most long lasting lip products in my collection. And the good part about these are that they are long lasting without being matte. (matte lip sticks tend to last a long time but they can make your lips dry and flake-y)
- Nice sturdy packaging. I was afraid that the cap was going to crack but that hasn't happened. I also think that the packaging is simple and cute. I like how you can twist up the product. They are a nice and portable size as well.
- Faint minty scent. I think this is a pro but some people might not like this smell. It goes away after applying it though so if you don't like it, it's not that big of a problem.
- relatively nice color variation (12 shades)
Cons:
- Can't get very precise application - you can't sharpen the tips of these, and the more you use these, the more blunt the tips get. It's not really necessary to sharpen these though, I don't have a problem with it; but some people who like having precise lip lines might find this to be a problem.
- Not moisturizing, unlike the Revlon lip butters these aren't for moisturizing your lips. It doesn't dry my lips out, but if you have dry lips, the dryness will stand out if you don't moisturize your lips before using this.
left to right: honey, rendezvous, adore |
- Honey: an everyday wearable pink. A little on the darker mauvy side.
- Rendezvous: bright orange! There's not much else left to say about this one. Definitely a nice summer lip color since you don't have to touch up much
- Adore: medium red (on my skin tone) for paler people it'll probably be a deep red color. This is more of a autumn color in my opinion.
Overall, I really like these balm stains, I haven't tried other colors since I'm pretty satisfied with what I have right now. I get more use out of Honey and Rendezvous and sometimes I put the stain on underneath a lipstick to make the lip color last longer. Some of the other lip stains that I've had were similar to markers and those never worked well on my lips. These apply more smoothly and they still give a lot of color.
If you have any questions on these, I'd love to answer them:)
